Leaving Kirkwall

(OOC:  Smile)
Kirkwall, Dragon 9:31

Progress gained and progress lost. My attempts to understand my companions are met with failure it seems. Perhaps I did get a bit defensive and lashed back. I tried to excuse myself but couldn't leave. Warden's orders. Trapped by people proclaiming the importance of freedom. Very interesting.

Then I realized Kyndaria is just lashing out like Geoff did when he first came to the Circle. He turned his pain into a weapon as she has done. Hopefully, she can learn to turn it into something else. Until then, she is a flame. One day the fire princess will learn that everyone has pain. Her pain is just as important as everyone else's.

As for everyone else... I feel terrible for Donegal. His failures seem to mirror my own. He wears his pain as a mask. Very Orlesian, as I understand. Tyrion seems likeable enough. I got tripped up in his game. Dwarves and princesses. I suppose it could have been much worse. Valandir frightens me. He reminds me of U. sometimes. He has sharpened his pain and honed it into a real blade. While Kyndaria strikes blindly, Valandir uses his blade with precision.

I have not interacted enough with Barrendis, Rimgar or Kat to truly form an opinion. I was rather confused by Kat's decision to charge into battle. And then when everyone discussed their skills, she did not participate. This raises a number of concerns.

I need to figure out where the line stands with Barrendis. He is too quiet to pin down. I can't read him.

Zarath is certainly a skilled mage. Bitter but I like him well enough. He wears his pain as armor. It would take work to get through but I am quite curious about Dalish arcane theory an how it differs from Circle teachings.

Kirkwall is a terrible place.

As much as I long to return home, I must see this through. I cannot return with the shame of failure. That and I'm not quite ready to go back yet. When will my memories of home stop being stained with blood?

I shall have to content myself with imagining the First Enchanter's reaction if babies were allowed in the Tower. As if impish apprentices aren't enough!
